Queenter OsoroChairperson
Queenter Osoro gained her Masters in Nuclear Science and Bachelors of Science Degree in Chemistry from the University of Nairobi. She is a fellow of the World Nuclear University (WNU) and holds a certificate in Environmental Impact Assessment and Audit. Her career of over ten years has been mainly spent working with the Nuclear Power and Energy Agency (NuPEA), formerly Kenya Nuclear Electricity Board (KNEB), which is a State Corporation established under the Energy Act 2019. As a Chemist at NuPEA, she leads Radiation Protection projects as well as participate in various technical committees within and in other organizations in the energy and petroleum sector. She is tasked with carrying out technical studies on nuclear power infrastructure issues as well as developing national policies and strategies for technical infrastructure.
Queenter has served as a member of the EAARP for several years, and is currently the Chairperson. Her work at EAARP include coordinating the association’s activities. She has planned very successful series of webinars and physical training workshops by sourcing for speakers both national and international, and represented the association in meetings and workshops.
She has gained vast experience and training in the nuclear technology and radiation protection, both locally and internationally that include Basics of Non – Destructive Testing (Kenya 2013), Basics for industrial Radiographic Testing (Kenya 2014), Nuclear Power Technology for Developing countries (Beijing, China 2015), The Women Higher Education for Peace, Disarmament and Non-proliferation Education Partnership (Vienna 2016), The Women Scholarship for Peace, University of Peace Training program, (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia 2016), Nuclear Knowledge Management Training Course IAEA-ICTP School of Nuclear Knowledge Management (Trieste Italy 2017), Training Course on Radiation Protection for Nuclear Embarking Countries ( Lemont, IL, USA 2019), Environmental Impact Assessment Course, Kenya School of Government (Kenya 2022), Nuclear Security and Regulatory Infrastructure Workshop, (Kenya 2022), Radiological Environmental Impact Assessment for Nuclear Power Plant (Kenya 2022) and Interregional Training Course on Integrated Management System, Leadership and Safety (Lemont, IL, USA 2022)
